Beyond Basic Search
AiSU offers powerful search capabilities that go beyond simple keyword matching. This guide covers advanced techniques to find information faster.
Semantic Search
Unlike traditional keyword search, AiSU uses semantic search to understand the meaning of your query.
Example:
- Query: "How do we handle customer refunds?"
- Will match documents mentioning "return policy", "reimbursement process", etc.
The AI understands that these terms are related, even if the exact words don't appear.
Using Filters
Narrow your search using filters:
By Document Type
Filter by contract, report, policy, invoice, or other document types that were automatically classified during indexing.
By Category
Search within specific categories like Legal, Finance, HR, Marketing, etc.
By Date Range
Find documents created or modified within a specific timeframe:
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
- Custom date range
By Sensitivity
Filter by document sensitivity levels:
- Public
- Internal
- Confidential
- Restricted
Saved Filters
Create and save frequently used filter combinations:
- Configure your filters
- Click Save Filter
- Give it a name
- Access from the Saved Filters dropdown
Search Operators
Use operators for precise queries:
- Quotes for exact phrases: `"quarterly revenue report"`
- AND for multiple required terms: `budget AND 2026`
- OR for alternative terms: `invoice OR receipt`
- NOT to exclude terms: `report NOT draft`
Natural Language Queries
You can ask questions naturally:
- "What were the key findings from last month's audit?"
- "Show me all contracts expiring in Q2"
- "Find presentations about our product roadmap"
The AI will interpret your intent and retrieve relevant documents.
Combining Techniques
For best results, combine multiple techniques:
- Start with a natural language query
- Apply relevant filters (date, category, type)
- Refine with search operators if needed
- Save successful combinations for reuse
Performance Tips
- More specific queries yield better results
- Use filters early to narrow the search space
- Review and update document metadata regularly
- Archive or delete outdated content
